Once the fondness of greyhound racing passed, Ted took to his allotment with renewed vigour. Having more time on his hands he started to spend more time in the allotment, firstly in Caterham, Surrey then from 2000 on in Aylesford Kent and also for a time in Barming Kent. At one time Ted and Margaret were running 3 plots, taking them from overgrown and neglected plots to tidy producers of great quality produce. Ted grew more than enough on these allotment's, this was often distributed to family, neighbours and friends.
